CM Punk refers to his altercations in AEW during WWE SmackDown. CM Punk joked on Friday Night SmackDown about the altercations he took part in in All Elite Wrestling. A few moments ago, WWE held a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown from the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, Rhode Island. The show, which marked the annual Tribute to the Troops 2023 , featured several highlights, including an appearance by CM Punk .

The professional wrestler made an appearance at the blue show for the first time in more than a decade . With microphone in hand, The Best in the World began to play with the possibility of entering the Royal Rumble and carrying on rivalries with various names within the company. But he also took the opportunity to briefly mention the controversies of his last year and a half.

One of the rivals that CM Punk tested for his return to the ring is Kevin Owens , who a few weeks ago starred in a backstage segment in which he hit Grayson Waller and Austin Theory in the face. “Maybe we’re a little alike after all,” Punk said to fans in the arena :

“Honestly, I wouldn’t feel comfortable working with someone who beats up people behind the scenes . It’s 2023, you can’t do crazy things like that.”

As expected, CM Punk’s words refer to his conflicts backstage at All Elite Wrestling .

The Best in the World got into an altercation with executive vice presidents Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks backstage at All Out 2022 . A year later, and after a difficult recovery process, Punk threatened Jack Perry and other names backstage at All In London. As a consequence, the fighter was fired from the company under “termination for cause”

Interestingly, last week it was revealed that CM Punk signed a confidentiality agreement with AEW. Both the current WWE worker and others within the Jacksonville company (including its president Tony Khan) legally agreed not to speak about the other party to the public , in a deal that will be valid indefinitely. This includes the previously mentioned physical and verbal altercations.
