John Morrison / Johnny Elite made his AEW Debut. This week’s AEW Dynamite show was a wild-card Wednesday Dynamite show in Texas; this Wednesday night with an all-new Dynamite hailing from the Fertitta Centre in Houston; Last week’s events kicked off the Owen Hart Tournament with Adam Cole, Jeff Hardy, Toni Storm, and Ruby Soho all advancing to the Semi-Final round; it saw both Scorpio Sky and Ricky Starks retain their respective titles, and MJF lay down the stipulations for Wardlow to get his Double or Nothing 2022 match.
This week’s AEW Dynamite show had The Owen Hart Cup Tournament quarterfinals match involving Samoa Joe against the Joker card superstar. We did not know who that is or Samoa Joe facing whom. But the show opened with this match and Samoa Joe walked down towards the meaning to face his opponent. Surprisingly it was none other than formal WWE superstar John Morrison. Who is currently known as Johnny Elite. This was a shocker because no one expected that Johny Elite would make his AEW Debut tonight.
Samoa Joe and Johnny Elite had one of the best opening matches in AEW Dynamite history. As they delivered on the fans expectation of a great match. The match had some memorable moments, pretty spots and great moves. But in the end surprisingly Samoa Joe hit Johny Elite with his finisher the muscle buster to cover him for the three count. This was another surprise as Johnny Elite lost his debut match against Samoa Joe and Samoa Joe qualified for the next round.
More on this will be out soon as we’ll know if Johnny Elite had signed a contract with AEW or not. So stay tuned.
