AEW Dynamite results February 7, 2024. Big Bill and Ricky Starks put the AEW Tag Team Championship at stake against Sting and Darby Allin. TBS will broadcast episode number 227 of AEW Dynamite today, February 7 , live from the Footprint Center, Phoenix, AZ. The show begins with Hangman Adam Page vs. Swerve Strickland. The winner will get a shot at the AEW World Championship at Revolution.
Measured start, with grips seeking control and a lot of tension. Page throws the first blow of the match, Swerve knocks him down and they start hitting each other until they fall out of the ring. Page takes control upon returning to the ring, Swerve stops his offensive with a kick. Swerve looks for a Flying Octopus, lands blows on Page’s neck and manages to put him on the canvas. Swerve dodges a Lariat, but receives another one to the back of the head. Fallaway Slam to Swerve at ringside, Page dominates the situation.
Page is on the other side of the ropes, Swerve goes for him but Hangman takes him out of the ring with a Back Body Drop, causing Swerve to fall spectacularly. Swerve dodges an Orihana Moonsault and surprises with a Flatliner. Swerve continues attacking in the ring, connects the House Call but it is not enough. Strickland puts his hands to avoid a Powerbomb, surprising Page but he immediately reacts with a Liger Bomb. Swerve’s Buckshot Lariat! Swerve Stomp!
They go up to the barricade, they struggle, and Page manages to apply a DDT right there. Back in the ring, they exchange kicks until they fall. Backbreaker by Swerve and a two count. Page goes up to the corner, Strickland pushes him and leaves him hanging upside down and applies a Swerve Stomp. Strickland places Page on a table that falls apart, so he goes to find another one. Swerve looks for a 450 Splash but Page meets it with his knees. Two Buckshot Lariats! 1…2…Swerve puts his foot on the ropes!
Deadeye to Swerve on the edge of the ring. Prince Nana to motivate Swerve and get him up before the count of ten. Page takes him out of the ring again and grabs a chair. Page hits Nana with the chair! Swerve kicks the chair to hurt Page’s face. Swerve Stomp! Strickland seems to have landed badly on his ankle, he looks for a JML Driver but Page escapes and bends the injured ankle. Deadeye from Swerve to Page on the ringside table! Page dodges a Swerve Stomp, tries the Buckshot Lariat but Swerve applies the JML Driver. 1…2…time’s up!
Swerve Strickland takes the microphone and repeats no several times. “I didn’t come this far to end up like this. Hangman, I’m not going to let you get out of this so easily. You know how it is. 5…minutes…more,” Swerve demands.
Hangman Page responds that Swerve has to beat him to get a title shot, so he refuses to continue the match. Tony Schiavone speaks on behalf of Tony Khan. “Now we have two challengers for the match at Revolution: it will be a three-way match between Samoa Joe, Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page.”
“I can’t believe I have to deal with this. Again, we’re celebrating mediocrity. None of them deserve to be in the ring with me. I’m Samoa Joe, I’m the world champion, and despite their efforts, no matter what they do, I’m going out. of Revolution as champion. It’s a shame that you fight for the title,” Joe ends furiously.
Deonna Purrazzo joins the commentary table during the match. Toni dominates with a lock at the beginning, Velvet responds with kicks in the corner. Storm takes control, applies a Body Slam but it’s not enough. Storm connects jobs, charges the last one but Velvet dodges and attacks with punches of her own and more kicks.
Standing Moonsault and a two count on Toni. Hip Attack and DDT from Storm to get back on the offensive. Storm surprises with an Ankle Lock, forcing Velvet to tap out.
After the fight, Storm doesn’t let go of the key. Deonna Purrazzo runs to the ring to face her.
Orange Cassidy is interviewed by Renee Paquette. Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero accompany Orange. Cassidy will face Tomohiro Ishii on Friday and will fight alongside his friends on Saturday, but he says he will be fine. Regarding Chuck Taylor, he says that he is being checked right now, and they will go check the checkup now.
Hechicero and Danielson begin the match with a technical duel. Hechicero catches Danielson with his legs and spins him around the canvas until he gets the count. Relays for Golden Mask and Catagnoli. Dorada hits Chops but Claudio doesn’t seem to feel them. Dorada surpasses Claudio with her agility and they both take over. Volador and Moxley go to blows, Volador launches into Tope Suicida and Moxley responds with one of his own.
In both flights, the respective teams attacked the opponent who was left alone at ringside. Danielson applies his classic kicks to Volador and corners him in the BCC corner. Giant Swing from Claudio to Volador, Mox takes over to look for the account. Máscara Dorada misses a jump on the ropes, but responds with a variety of jumping and flying offense. CMLL wrestlers fly over their opponents at ringside. Hechicero’s backbreaker and Máscara’s 450 Splash on Danielson, but his teammates save him. Danielson’s Buisaku Knee, Sorcerer flies with a Lariat on him.
Hechicero goes on to fight with Claudio, knocks him down with great technique and catches with his legs for a pin that doesn’t reach three. Danielson stomps on Hechicero until he drops the key on Hechicero’s knees. Hechicero goes on to close a Stretch Muffler on Danielson, Moxley saves him. Guillotine Leg Drop from Hechicero on Claudio, counts about three. Claudio pushes Hechicero against the referee and hits him with a low blow. Castagnoli covers Hechicero and takes the victory.
Místico, Esfinge and Star Jr, who were watching from the front row, jump into the ring after the end. Matt Sydal, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker and Christopher Daniels arrive to scare away the CMLL fighters.
Tony Khan appears to make an announcement. He says that the March 13 show in Boston will be called Big Business, and he assures that it will change not only the company but also wrestling. “It will be one of AEW’s biggest nights and a night the entire industry will remember,” he says.
Even start with tackles, punches and kicks between both. Jericho takes Konosuke out of the ring, Don Callis scolds him and slaps him to motivate him. Takeshita applies a Brainbuster to Jericho at ringside and launches himself into a Senton upon returning to the ring. Sammy Guevara appears to attack Powerhouse Hobbs with a chair, but it doesn’t seem to affect him. Sammy’s cutter and another chair blow, this time to Hobbs’ head.
In the ring, Juimping Knee by Takeshita, Jericho dodges another one and connects with a Dropkick. Jericho steals Take’s entrance mask and throws himself at him at ringside. Exchange of blows in the ring, Takeshita kick and Tope with a twist over the ropes. Jericho reverses a Takeshitaline with the Codebreaker and almost gets the victory. Blue Thunder Bomb, they struggle in the corner and he hits an Avalanche Blue Thunder Bomb. 1…2…no!
Jericho looks for his Walls of Jericho, but in a moment of distraction Don Callis attacks him with the screwdriver. Konosuke Takeshita applies the Walls of Jericho, Chris seems to resist, but finally gives up.
Stiong and Darby launch themselves at their rivals before the bell rings. The action quickly moves to the audience area, Sting and Starks on one side, Bill and Darby on the other. Sting goes up to an entrance balcony and flies over everyone. Sting attacks Bill and Starks with a chair, controlling the situation after Darby received a Backbreaker on the edge of the ring. Hard Lariat by Bill after receiving a Splash from Sting on his back. Bill catches Darby in the middle of the Suicide Top to apply a Big Boss Slam.
Bill sets up a table at ringside. Sting saves Allin from Big Bill and goes on to beat up the champions. Bill misses a kick, his leg is on the rope and Sting moves it to punish his crotch. Scorpion Deathdrop from Ricky on Sting, Allin saves his partner. Sting and Darby attack Bill, Allin’s Code Red and Coffin Drop at ringside on Big. Scorpion Deathlock by Sting in the middle of the ring. Meanwhile, Bill tries to get into the ring with Allin on his back. They both fall on the table!
Starks crawls to free himself from Sting’s hold, The Icon attacks with a Splash but Ricky discovers the corner, hurting Sting. Ricky Spear! 1…2…no! Starks lasted for a few moments, but saw Sting hit his chest to react and charged with the Spear. Sting avoids a Spear and hits the Scorpion Deathdrop. 1…2…3!
Sting’s children approach the ring to congratulate their father. The Young Bucks attack Sting and Allin with bats! Sting’s children approach but are also attacked by the Jacksons. Allin bleeds profusely from his face, staining Matthew and Nicholas’s white suits red. EVP Trigger to Allin. Before leaving, the Young Bucks throw the championships at Sting and Allin.
