AEW Dynamite Results February 21, 2024 Live results from episode number 229 of AEW Dynamite. TBS and AEW Plus will broadcast a new episode of AEW Dynamite today, February 21, with Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone on the commentary table, live from the BOK Center arena in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Blackpool Combat Club (Claudio Castagnoli and Jon Moxley) vs. FTR (Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood)

Cash and Dax dominate the actions from the beginning but Moxley tries to break the dominance of the tag and attacks fiercely, followed by a Castagnoli who apply accurate blows to neutralize the rivals. Wheeler and Harwood try a combination against Castagnoli but he applies a Suplex to both of them. But Cash and Dax wake up and manage to contain Moxley and Claudio with Chops and kicks. The count barely remains at two.

Claudio pushes Wheeler and they try a duo suplex but Dax stops them. Combined powerbomb and cover but Mox breaks free for two. The four fall from a corner and Castagnoli applies the Swing to Harwood. Mox covers but the count remains at two. Brutal sharpshooter from Dax but Claudio hits one on Cash. They slap each other until they break the keys. The fight ends in a draw due to lack of time.

Match Ends in Draw

After the commercials we see the attack of Adam Cole and his colleagues on Chuck Taylor, and the defense of Orange Cassidy in AEW Rampage of the International title, which he also defended in RevPro.

Backstage, FTR complain that if they had more time they would have been beaten up. They pass Moxley and Claudio in the parking lot and security has to intervene.

Orange Cassidy vs. Mike Bennett (w/Matt Taven)

Cassidy runs up the ramp and delivers an Orange Punch to Taven and viciously punishes Bennett. Cassidy dominates in the ring and leaves the opponent with no chance, even taking things to ringside and throwing him against the metal stairs. Bennett manages to land some blows to knock out Orange but he recovers and attacks him roughly. Gotchstyle Piledriver by Bennett but Cassidy resists a two count. Orange Punch and the triumph.

Winner: Orange Cassidy.

Taven and Roderick Strong attack an exhausted Cassidy until the music of Jake Hager plays, who scares the villains away with his power and raises the champion’s arm.

Tony Schiavone stars as the one and only Daniel Garcia.

Tony highlights his opportunity for the TNT Championship that he will have at AEW Revolution, and the crowd yells at him that he deserves it. Garcia thanks them and that thanks to his efforts he is where he is. Garcia addresses Christian Cage and assures him that he will make him perform and he will emerge as the new champion. The champion comes out to respond. 

Cage highlights everything he said but tells him that they will not be in a ring together because he is not ready for that. Cage makes fun of Garcia’s parents and offers to be his father, but he insults him and Nick Wayne goes up to attack him until the challenger himself throws him out of the way.

Toni Storm vs. Sydni Winnell

Storm dominates the entire fight, without the rookie being able to hurt her, until she gets bored and closes the fight with a brutal Crossface for submission.

Winner: Toni Storm.

Deonna Purrazzo appears after the fight and the champion flees down the ramp, without meeting her, and remains in the ring for her fight against Madison Rayne.

Deonna Purrazzo vs. Madison Rayne

Deonna Purrazzo enters for her match and briefly encounters Storm. She then shakes Madison Rayne’s hand to begin their match, and the two face each other with wrestling moves on the ground. Rayne briefly takes control in the corner, but Purrazzo avoids an attack and takes a big boot. Purrazzo then follows with a sliding kick.

They fight outside the ring, with Rayne crashing Purrazzo into the steel stairs. Inside the ring, Rayne applies a submission hold to slow the pace. Rayne then hits an enziguri, but they both collide in the ring. They trade blows until Purrazzo knocks Rayne down, who lands awkwardly on her head. The referee and doctor intervene to check her, and Purrazzo quickly obtains the victory by submission.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo.

Purrazzo ends up winning with Toni Storm’s “Break A Leg” ankle lock. After the fight, Storm comes out and ends up locking Purrazzo in with the Break A Leg.

There’s a promo with Sting and Darby Allin about their upcoming match with Matthew and Nicholas Jackson. Darby shows old photos of Sting with his children. Sting reveals that his father sadly passed away last week. He says that he has made him think about his own mortality. He knows that he is not invincible but he is going to give everything he has left in Revolution. He promises Matthew and Nicholas the fight of their lives.

Wardlow heads to the ring and cuts a promo talking about how he has never received a world championship opportunity. He says people should be fired for that. He comments that he beat up CM Punk, crushed MJF and choked Samoa Joe. He says he’s the best in the world, he says he’s better than you, and he’s the uncrowned king of AEW.

Don Callis says that it doesn’t matter who wins between Will Ospreay and Konosuke Takeshita in Revolution because his family comes out victorious. He says that he is on his way to pick up Ospreay from the airport. He also mentions that Powerhouse Hobbs is going to beat up everyone at Meat Madness.

Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe and Brian Cage vs. Rob Van Dam, HOOK and ‘Hangman’ Adam Page

In a fight between Samoa Joe and several opponents, HOOK begins by dominating with punches and a monkey flip, but is then neutralized by Brian Cage and Swerve Strickland. Adam Page joins the chaos, taking on Strickland, while HOOK battles Cage. Rob Van Dam (RVD) shows off his aerial attack skills, but the action intensifies with Joe attacking RVD and HOOK.

Page attempts an aerial maneuver, but is countered by Cage. In a frantic exchange of finishing moves, Page sets up his Buckshot Lariat, but focuses on Strickland and is powerbombed through a table by Joe. The fight culminates with Joe applying his Coquina Clutch submission hold on RVD, knocking him out.

Winners: Swerve Strickland, Samoa Joe and Brian Cage,
