Despite being in WWE for over 8 years, Claudio Castagnoli wasn’t able to break over the Tag Team division or the Mid Card division. When it finally seemed like he could be a big star WWE released him and now he’s in AEW.

With being in AEW Claudio Castagnoli is able to work for ROH (Ring of Honor) because Tony Khan had bought Ring of Honor. Now with Tony Khan incharge Ring of Honor is set to return after a brief hiatus. Death before Dishonor was Ring of Honor’s returning pay-per-view and Claudio Castagnoli; fka Cesaro was set to take on ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham.

The match was a great match and Claudio Castagnoli and Jonathan Gresham put on a great performance. With a great surprise Claudio Castagnoli was able to defeat Jonathan Gresham and he won his first ever world championship. And most surprisingly his former friend, a WWE superstar, applauded him over his victory.
