AEW Replacing CM Punk as Top Babyface. When CM Punk joined All Elite Wrestling in 2021; He was instantly a big hit for the company. He came in like a huge draw and pay per view numbers were up by 200% nearly doubling the profit. So it was clear that he was the biggest baby face of the company.
All that changed when Punk got into a backstage fight with the elite and the whole AEW backstage morale where disrupted. Resulting in CM Punk’s reputation being deteriorated in front of fans and the company wasn’t going to afford to let him lead as the Babyface.
Now he is not in AEW and the company needs a new face. MJF could be a better choice but his work is excellent as a heel. That’s why while speaking on this topic wrestling observer Dave Meltzer said:
“But they are lacking in that babyface position, something fierce. They had a shot with MJF, obviously, they did the double-cross on that. MJF was great as a heel tonight, but they don’t have the guy. That’s one of the reasons….Punk’s not gonna be the guy either.”I know some people might say, ‘Well, Punk’s coming back. Punk may come back. He will be available to come back if they want to use him in a couple of months.
It’s not like it’s so far in the future. Of course, if they were to bring Punk back, that opens up a lot of other issues that we can talk about another day. That’s the weakness. There’s no easy answer to this. It’s not like you can snap your fingers and create a babyface,”
Now if AEW is considering replacing CM Punk as the top babyface there might be a few reliable options like Jon Moxley, Kenny Omega and Bryan Danielson. Or AEW should go with their homegrown talents like MJF, Sammy Guevara, Darby Allin and Jungle Boy whom they consider the four pillars of AEW.
Let us know your consideration for the role? Who should lead the company going forward? We’ll be covering more on this story. So stay tuned and remember…the home of professional wrestling is All Elite Wrestling! For more updates follow AEWHindi.com.
