AEW Collision Results January 6, 2024 Live results from episode number 29 of AEW Collision. TNT and AEW Plus broadcast the 29th episode of AEW Collision last night, January 6 , with Tony Schiavone and Nigel McGuiness on the commentary table, live from the Bojangles Coliseum arena in the city of Charlotte, North Carolina. This week’s show featured attractions such as Eddie Kingston’s defense of the AEW Continental Championship against Trent Beretta.
Henry attacks Allin with a chair but Sting stops him and then takes care of Drake, who tries to hit him with another chair. Drake neutralizes Sting and together with Henry they attack Allin at ringside, crashing him into the security barricade.
Flying Headbutt by Drake and Allin resists the three count. Sting helps Darby and he hits a Code Red on Drake. Sting takes out a Lariat on Henry and Darby hits the Coffin Drop to ringside. Scorpion Deathdrop to Drake and the count of three.
Don Callis promotes the AEW Dynamite Homecoming match between Darby Alling and Sting against Konosuke Takeshita and Powerhouse Hobbs through a pre-recorded video.
Both exchange forearms and chops but Kingston is stronger and knocks Trent down to hit him roughly on the canvas. Trent recovers and manages to land some blows and knock Eddie down with Suplexes. But Kingston covers himself from his blows and sends him to ringside and leaves his head bleeding. Trent rises and lands some well-timed kicks but Kingston is stronger and shakes him off. Brutal powerbomb from a corner by Trent but Eddie resists the two count.
Exploder and Enziguri from Eddie, followed by a DDT but Trent refuses to go down. Kingston frees himself in two from an attack by Trent. Chops fight between the two but Trent gets a Suplex. Exploder out of nowhere by Eddie and the Back Fist for the count, which miraculously reaches two. Kingston’s Jack Hammer and the count of three.
Willow Nightingale and Kris Statlander with their iguana Boots are interviewed backstage by Tony Schiavone. Nightingale and Statlander found their interaction with Stokely Hathaway at AEW Rampage strange, but they promise to focus on making 2024 their year and winning gold.
HOOK, through a vignette, assures that it was time for him to have more gold on his waist, in addition to the FTW Championship. HOOK proceeds to call out the newly crowned AEW World Champion, Samoa Joe, stating that he was coming for Joe’s gold.
Bennett mercilessly attacks Komander, throwing him violently into the corners and slamming him to the canvas. Taven tries to follow Mike’s punishment but Komander cuts him off and gives way to Keith. But the villains do their thing and neutralize him to apply punishment together. Keith reacts with several kicks to the head and coupero but Mike resists and switches with Taven.
Bennett and Taven merge into legal man and can’t cover Keith well after a Vertical Suplex. Brutal superplex by Komanrder on Taven and changes with Keith. Komander launches himself to ringside and falls on the villains, and Bryan follows the kicks to Taven but Bennett covers him. Piledriver to Komander and they finish off Keithh for the count of three.
Bullet Club Gold (Jay White and the Gunn brothers) are interviewed by Renee Paquette backstage before being interrupted by Billy Gunn and The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens). Bowens tells the BCG to think of a superfaction to take down The Undisputed Kingdom. White and Colten Gunn dismiss the idea, but Austin Gunn tells Paquette that it made some sense.
But more than anything he assures that Christian Cage crossed a line and that he will no longer give him his revenge because he is a coward. He understands that his opportunities pass but he will continue to work hard to achieve it. He talks about how Luchasaurus keeps kissing his butt and that it cost him his chance. But he already passed that and now he wants a new rival for what is to come. Maria Kanellis comes out alongside Griff Garrison and Cole Karter. Garrison confronts him and wants to fight but Adam stops him and tells him not to make a serious mistake.
Adam gets him off with several Suplexes and crashes him into the corners. He lands several hits on the canvas and Garrison is left lying against a corner. Maria holds Adam back so he doesn’t hit him with her Spear and Karter distracts him to receive Garrison’s blow.
Adam manages to break Griff’s hold and attacks Karter. He climbs a corner and hits a Crossbody. Copeland positions himself for the Spear and runs but receives a spinning elbow from Griff Garrison, the cover but saves for two. Copeland superplex and DDT. Brutal crossface and Garrison surrenders.
After the fight, Karter attacks Copeland from behind and looks for a Frog Splash but he blocks it and once he’s up he applies the Spear to end the segment.
Ric Flair, Darby Allin and Sting cut a promo backstage where The Ico promises that they would beat the Don Callis Family in their return to Daily’s Place at AEW Dynamite Homecoming.
Blue starts the attack strong, not letting Hogan counterattack, and even dodges her moves. But Blue gets confident and takes a blow from behind from Hogan. Skye does not allow herself to be dominated and manages to prevail again with kicks and several Suplexes.
Hogan responds with some Dropkicks and a Senton in the corner. Blue responds with a Superkick in the corner, Hogan recovers but receives a Fallaway Slam and a brutal Crossface.
We see a promotional video of Serena Deeb, where she is seen training with different fighters in different Dojos, in which she is even fighting with a straitjacket. Deeb assures that she is more than ready to return.
Everett goes all out but Claudio stops him in his tracks and crashes him against the canvas several times. Em ringside crashes him against the security fence and returns him to the ring but the Swing. Giant Swing by Castagnoli and leaves him on the canvas, dizzy. Andrew recovers and blocks. He can’t connect with the Shooting Star and receives the Neutralizer for the three count.
Ricky Starks and Big Bill are backstage for an interview, where Starks vows to destroy Sammy Guevara to make his triumphant return to Daily’s Place at AEW Dynamite Homecoming. Big Bill then issues a challenge to Le Sex Gods (Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara) to put the titles on the line at Battle of The Belts IX in a street fight.
Buddy and Dax engage in a short fight, with holds and blows. Malakai enters and exchanges blows and agile movements with Harwood and is surprised, so Black goes to Harwood’s daughter at ringside. FTR goes to help her but Black just escapes. Malakai prevails over Dax and holds him back with holds and butts until Dax lands some Chops. HoB rotate to attack Dax but they also look for Cash and apply a Slam on the apron. Brutal right hand from Malakai to Dax at ringside. Cash cannot relieve Dax and receives blows from Matthews that leave him on the canvas. Dax enters and punches them both.
Brutal brainbuster but the count remains at two. Black hits him with a knee but can’t launch himself high and receives a Superplex and Cash’s Splash. Buddy cuts just the count of three. Black grabs a chair but the referee stops him. Brody King goes out on the ramp but Daniel Garcia attacks him from behind with a chair. Brutal stomp from Buddy to Dax but he hits the rope just right. Powerbomb and tries a bridge but Dax reverses it and gets the three count.
