Chris Jericho is no longer under NJPW contract. Chris Jericho is a real veteran wrestler who has worked in multiple wrestling promotions such as WWE, AEW, WCW and NJPW. He joined NJPW in 2018 after leaving the WWE but when he signed with AEW. He returned only a few times in NJPW. Such as for a match against Hiroshi Tanahashi in 2020. After that he hasn’t returned to the promotion yet.
Recently Dave Meltzer talked about Chris Jericho’s status with NJPW and his contract. While talking about Chris Jericho and his contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling, Dave Meltzer said:
“The current AEW star Chris Jericho’s deal actually expired following his clash with Hiroshi Tanahashi at the second night of Wrestle Kingdom 14 in January 2020.”
Dave Meltzer believes that Chris jerico was last match was against Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Was his last match in NJPW. After that match his contract expired with the promotion and now he is not under contract with NJPW. Chris Jericho has shown interest in returning to NJPW in future.
