AEW is waiting for Zelina Vega’s Non Compete clause to end. AEW has signed a lot of former WWE superstars such as Dean Ambrose, Chris Jericho and Dustin Rhodes. They have scouted many former WWE superstars, some of them were released by WWE and some quitted WWE. Few months ago WWE released many of their talents due to Covid-19 pandemic and their third party policies. Zelina Vega was also a part of this release.
Recently Tony Khan was interviewed by Dave Meltzer on his Wrestling Observer Podcast. Meltzer asked Tony Khan about hiring former WWE star Zelina Vega. Are they gonna sign Zelina Vega to see or not ? Tony Khan replied to Meltzer by the following statement. He said :
“Isn’t she in a 90-day non-compete? She was in a non-compete last time I checked. I’ve been waiting for that….I don’t talk to people when they have the non-compete. If hers expired, it must have just expired. I’ve been waiting on her non-compete to expire. I’d have to check the math to see if she expired. When we get through this tournament and through this pay-per-view, I’d be interested to see where she’s at.”Tony Khan
The conversation revealed that they’re waiting for Zelina Vega’s Non Compete clause to expire. Tony Khan said that they are waiting for her non compete clause to end, because then only they can approach her to sign in AEW. So now AEW might sign her in AEW after her non compete clause ends.
