AEW Dynamite Results December 27, 2023 New Year’s Smash. MJF and Samoa Joe put the ROH Couples Championship at stake against two henchmen of The Devil. TBS will broadcast episode number 221 of AEW Dynamite today, December 27 , live from the Addition Financial Arena in Orlando, Florida.

Continental Classic – Gold League Finals :

Jon Moxley vs. Jay White vs. Swerve Strickland

Swerve tries to surprise Jon with a pin early in the match, then they move on to punching each other in and out of the ring. White joins in but they both throw him over the barricade, Jon then does the same with Swerve and goes after him through the audience. Swerve controls the situation, sits Jon in a chair and runs in with a Knee Strike. White does not get any offense at the moment, being surpassed every time he approaches the rivals.

The action returns to ringside, where White takes advantage and attacks from behind, injuring Mox’s knee. Swerve connects a knee to Jay and overcomes Jon in the exchange inside the ring. Swerve takes them both out and flies Frog Splash from above. Jon launches a Suicidal Top on Swerve and applies a Piledriver for a two count. He quickly transitions to elbows and a lock to Swerve’s arm. 

Jon surprises an air attack with a Paradigm Shift but it is not enough.

Moxley tries to throw Swerve onto a table, but White attacks him from behind with a chair. White punishes Moxley’s knee with chairs and goes for Swerve in the ring. Strickland surprises him with a pin that almost gives him the victory. Swerve fakes a kick with one leg, surprises with the other and connects with his House Call. 450 Splash but Mox breaks the count just in time. The three exchange chops, punches and kicks in the ring. Suplex from Jay to Swerve, Mox catches White in the Bulldog Choke but Swerve kicks him to let go.

King Kong Lariat to Swerve, Bladerunner to Mox, Jay looks for the count but Strickland breaks it at the last moment. Jay takes the chair to attack both opponents and then crosses it in a corner. Swerve reverses and throws Jay face first into the chair. Swerve attacks Mox, looks for height but Jay throws him. Moxley connects the Death Rider to White and takes the victory.

Gold League Winner: Jon Moxley .

Swerve Strickland is interviewed backstage after the fight. Swerve issues a challenge to Keith Lee for Saturday at Worlds End. Schiavone brought a contract from Lee for Prince Nana and Swerve to approve.

Mariah May is interviewed by Renee Paquette. Mariah says it wasn’t that she attacked Riho, but that she helped the biggest star, Toni Storm. Regarding her debut, May doesn’t feel like 2023 has enough energy or glamor for her. “My debut will be next week on the first Dynamite of the year, because 2024 will be all about Mariah,” she says.

Riho goes after Mariah May, but Toni Storm goes after her challenger. Riho manages to overcome Storm, who ends up backing away from Mariah and Luther.

Top Flight and Action Andretti want to challenge another trio despite their loss to The Acclaimed. Orange Cassidy, Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero appear to accept the challenge to fight on Friday at Rampage. Romero approaches them to tell them that Cassidy did the same thing to him last week, and makes gestures that he is crazy.

Later, Christian Cage will be interviewed by Lexy Nair. Cage is accompanied by Nick Wayne and Mom Wayne, while he waits for Adam Copeland.

Tony Schiavone introduces the Don Callis Family for the Boxing Week celebration.

Don Callis, Konosuke Takeshita, Powerhouse Hobbs and Kyle Fletcher come out to the ring to boos from the audience. Callis says it’s been a tough few weeks for him. “In times like these, you need your family, and I couldn’t have gotten through this without my family by my side. To thank them and celebrate Boxing Week, I have these gifts to show my appreciation.” Callis goes on to reveal pictures with illustrations of each of his family with him. The illustrations are exaggerated and show Callis as someone strong, as in the case of Fletcher where he is boxing kangaroos next to him.

Before revealing the fourth painting, Sammy Guevara interrupts Don Callis. Sammy takes the microphone away from Callis and says that he hasn’t heard from her in a while. Callis asks him if he didn’t receive the gift for his son and accuses the local post office of losing it. Callis reveals the fourth painting to give to Sammy. The entire Callis family is in it, with Sammy and his son included. Guevara asks him who told him to put his baby there. 

Callis tells him that he is not mentally qualified to be a father and he can count on them.

Sammy remembers that Takeshita and Hobbs had great victories, but they didn’t accomplish anything else because Callis makes it all about himself. Callis understands Sammy’s disappointment in not calling him, but Callis says that he is disappointed in the opportunities he missed, being out of work for several months due to injury, and becoming a father. Callis tells him that he has to choose between “the other family” or the Don Callis family. “Think carefully about what you’re going to say. If you answer wrong, you will be remembered as a failure as a fighter, as you will be a failure as a father,” Callis shoots and Sammy is furious.

Guevara attacks Callis but the rest quickly jump on him. Chris Jericho comes out to help Sammy ! Jericho scares them away with his bat and together with Sammy destroys all the paintings. Sammy and Jericho hug.

Big Bill and Ricky Starks attack them from behind ! The lights are turned off. Sting and Darby Allin appear in the ring ! Sting and Darby push away the tag team champions, saving Jericho and Guevara.

Roderick Strong is interviewed by Renee Paquette. Along with The Kingdom, Strong reveals a whiteboard with his research that would prove that MJF is the Devil. “I will prove that you are the Devil. Whether today, tomorrow, or whenever. It doesn’t matter because Max is the Devil,” Strong insists.

Continental Classic – Blue League Finals :

Eddie Kingston vs. Bryan Danielson

Danielson keeps his distance and launches the first kicks of the match. Saito Suplex and Tope Suicide by Eddie, who continues attacking with hard Chops. DDT to Eddie on the edge of the ring and Bryan’s Flying Knee to take control. Danielson attacks with hard kicks, Kingston manages to react with an Exploder Suplex to stop him. Danielson blocks The Hurricane but receives a DDT. Eddie corners Bryan with Chops and steps on his head until the referee stops him.

Danielson goes on to punish Eddie’s arm, applies a Suplex and looks for height but Kingston stops him with blows. Bryan reverses the situation, leaving Eddie hanging upside down in the corner to unleash kicks on him. Eddie does not stop and begins a new exchange of blows with his rival. Kingston takes off his suspenders and stares defiantly at Bryan, Danielson responds by spitting before switching to the Chops again.

Danielson receives a number of Chops that destroy his chest, he surprises with a Suplex but it is not enough. Danielson throws kicks incessantly, Eddie dodges one and advances with a Lariat. Northern Lights Bomb and a two count on Bryan. Buisaku Knee by Danielson but Eddie resists the pin. Danielson looks for another Buisaku Knee but receives The Hurricane and a Suplex. He dodges another Hurricane but gets two later. Kawada-style powerbomb by Eddie for a three count.

Blue League winner: Eddie Kingston .

The final of the Continental Classic will be Jon Moxley vs. Eddie Kingston this Saturday at Worlds End.

After the fight, Jon Moxley comes out to the ring to face Eddie Kingston. “All I ask of you is 100%. For a guy who thinks the world is against him, you have a lot of people who love you. Everyone here loves you, AEW fans around the world love Eddie Kingston On Saturday in NYC they are going to love you. They don’t care if you win or lose, but they deserve the best from you. The problem is that I know you more than you know yourself. You can’t beat me, I know it and you know it “You’ve already given up, you’re already making excuses. If you want the triple crown like your idols, you’ll have to win it,” says Mox.

Eddie Kingston takes the microphone from him and says he talked a lot. “Don’t talk to me like your child, Wheeler Yuta. I came from you, I’m your senpai. I hate myself more than anyone, yes, but on Saturday, I’ll push you to the limit. You told me I couldn’t afford to leave to teach the younger guys. Is that what you want, Jon? I’ll give you everything I have. You better show me your fighting spirit, because I’ll show you mine,” Eddie closes.

Christian Cage is still upset waiting for Adam Copeland.

Adam Copeland finally appears on set for the interview with Christian Cage but they immediately come to blows. Several fighters and security personnel appear to try to separate them. Each time they manage to stop them, Adam escapes and reaches Christian again. Finally, the chaos ends and Copeland is taken from the scene.

Kris Statlander vs. Sky Blue

Long Vertical Suplex by Kris in the first minutes of the fight, where Skye continues to demonstrate her new, more aggressive and superb attitude. Blue crashes Kris face-first into the ring and takes control. Statlander responds with several Clotheslines, a Knee Strike and Chaos Theory but it is not enough. Skye surprises with the Code Blue but Kris resists. Statlander avoids a Hurricanrana with his power, Blue tries to spin but ends up receiving a Powerbomb for a two count.

Kris puts Skye in the corner, Blue counters and they exchange blows. Skye manages to escape, and while she distracts the referee Julia Hart appears to attack Kris. Avalanche Code Blue by Skye for the three count.

Winner: Skye Blue .

After the fight, Skye Blue continues attacking Kris Statlander. Willow Nightingale comes out to scare Skye and Julia away.

Abadon appears at the entrance to stalk Hart, whom he will face this Saturday at Worlds End for the TBS Championship.

Ruby Soho and Saraya are interviewed by Renee Paquette. Saraya says she has a gift for Ruby and offers Harley Cameron as her helper. Soho receives a call from Angelo Parker and goes to talk to him. Renee asks Saraya about Harley, who pulls out a huge knife. Saraya tells her not now and leaves with her.

Fight for the ROH World Couples Championships:

MJF (c) vs. The Devil’s Masks

When Samoa Joe should come out, it is shown on the giant screen that Joe is down due to an apparent attack. MJF says that he will still defend the titles and is preparing to fight alone against the masked men. 

He rings the bell and attacks one of them. MJF dominates both rivals, until a third masked man appears from below the ring and attacks MJF with a metal pipe. Heatseeker on MJF and pin with his feet on the ropes and the help of the other masked man.

Winners and new champions: The Masked Devils.

After the fight, several more masked men enter to attack MJF. Samoa Joe comes out with a chair to scare them away! Joe walks with difficulty due to the pain in his knee, but helps MJF up. The Devil appears on screen briefly. “A pleasure doing business with you,” the screen says. 

Surprisingly Samoa Joe attacks MJF with the chair! Muscle Buster for MJF! And Says He’s the one who’s done this to MJF. As AEW Dynamite went off Air.
