AEW Dynamite not changing TV time after moving to TBS. Since AEW’s launch in 2019. TNT Network has been their home and Wednesday Nights has been their prime time. Even though they were in a ratings war with WWE NXT; they pulled some great ratings for their Dynamite show.
Recently Tony Khan announced that they will be moving to TBS Network in 2021 with their both shows Dynamite and Rampage. This is due to the new deal that AEW has signed with Warner Media and this deal is financially in favour of AEW. Moving to TBS Network would definitely give a lot of benefits to AEW; And speaking of this new deal. Wrestling observer Dave Meltzer discussed AEW’s upcoming move to TBS Network and what would be the benefit for the company. He said :
“The other positive is with the new deal there will be significantly less preemptions for both shows, which were going to happen with the NBA and NHL on TNT, particularly during the playoffs. AEW, starting next week, will be bouncing around until TNT’s schedule with NBA playoffs are over. The belief is that there will be way fewer if any preemptions on TBS.”
Dave Meltzer believes that with his new deal. AEW won’t have to change their Dynamite TV time due to any consequences. That’s why this could be a great deal for AEW.
